The Global Institute of Public Health, Thiruvananthapuram started in 2014, a leading institute to propel the field of public health in education and research. Starting from its self-financing college located at Chacka, NH Bypass, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the institutions from this university affiliated college function in merely 1-acre area. The institute also maintains co-educational facilities for education with an emphasis on equality of all genders. At the present time, 16 students are learning in the institute and only 10 faculties are employed, which make the student faculty ratio very low that allow them to focus on student’s quality education. 

Institute has developed a number of facilities, which includes the academic support to the students as well as physical and other forms of development. A knowledge center also in form of well-endowed library is relevant in the portfolio of any PH institution since it offers variety of resources in PH and other related disciplines. Modern day laboratory is essential for practical exposure that is essential in getting knowledge in public health courses. The campus has well equipped and well designed classrooms to support small group and cooperative learning. Appendix 8: extracurricular activities The school provides sports facilities for the students to engage in sporting activities apart from academic activities. An auditorium in the campus is used for seminars, conferences, and cultural shows, which makes students’ surrounding lively. The institute also care for the welfare of the students and has put up a health center with first aid facilities. There is availability of healthy food in the cafeteria, separately rented hostels for boys and girls are available for out-station students to stay.

As a result of its academic programs, the Global Institute of Public Health targets on providing quality education in public health. The core program offered by the institute is the MPH, which is a two year full-time program. This unique program contains numerous elements of academic coursework and field experience that makes it possible for the student to develop in depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in the various areas of public health education for the challenge tasks in this important field.
