Godda College of Education, Godda, was step into education world in the year 1954 is one of the well known college situated in Punsiya, District – Godda, Jharkhand. An important factor for this constituent college is that it is NAAC accredited and also approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Godda College is a large co-educational institution whose students can choose between 7 major areas of study, and 10courses, for 1,790 students. A very dedicated and competent pool of 40 faculty members enhance and enrich the teaching-learning activities in the college.

The Godda College of Education boasts of boasting of diverse facilities in order to improve the student experience. The moderately big library is stocked with academic materials that provide knowledge of the subject to the students. For those who like sports and fitness there are great opportunity in sports facility and updated gym in the college area. The IT infrastructure makes sure that the students are aloft and they have the best technology available to them, they also made sure that with the Wi-Fi facility, they have internet access for the whole school. Godda College has a wide course offering portfolio of programmes, generally, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, the college offers 11 full-time programmes offered in different fields, namely sciences and humanities. This comprises B.Sc in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics all with honour, BA in economics with honour, M.Sc in Zoology, MA in Economics, and a B.ED programme. And remarkably, the B.Ed programme of the school has an approved intake capacity of a hundred students. 

The process of admission at Godda College is totally transparent and the admissions are offered on the merit basis. For most of the courses, candidates are given admission depending on the marks score in the entrance test. Nonetheless, for the B.Ed programme, the college uses a broad process in implementing the admission policy. The curriculum for this programme is offered to learners on a merit basis based on marks for qualifications Examination and or entrance Examination. The college also consider any other channel of selection as per policy of the state government, Union Territory administration and University.
