For students who are interested in joining studies at the Government Arts and Science College for Women, a structured merit-based admission system would be adopted. The B.A. programme will be available, and admissions will be based on the marks obtained on the 12th standard examination. Depending on the number of applications for the course and the number of seats available, cut-off percentages will be set. Admissions to the B.Sc. programme will also be based on marks attained in the 12th standard examination, with similar considerations of prior coursework if relevant, although timing of study would be more relevant for the B.Sc. programme; admissions give preference to candidates who have TY completed the relevant science subjects. In the case of admission to the M.A. programme, applicants will need to have completed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant or allied field, with some programmes subject to an entrance test or interview. M.Sc. candidates will need to have completed their degree in the appropriate science discipline, with qualifying marks to be considered, and may need to undergo further entrance tests in some instances.
