The Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital for men at Mysore was supposed to be founded in the year 1908 is a reputed centre of learning and treatment in Ayurveda. This affiliated college is based at Mysore, Karnataka and recognised from Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). Located in a cramped area of 3 acres, the institute is providing 5 courses in 2 degree programmes with the total strength of 347 in the students. The college has a total of 30 faculties who provide quality education in the different specialisations in Ayurveda. Being an educational establishment, it has been able to provide the world with a full range of Ayurvedic practices for more than a century.

Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital for men makes a host of amenities available to students to aid their academic and personal development. The library also provides various essential books and documents related to Ayurvedic science and Ayurvedic journals. Practical needs are meet by well-equipped laboratories that facilitate the academic process of learning Ayurveda for the students. These include one undergraduate programme (BAMS) offered at SPSU and four Postgraduate Programmes in the MD Ayurveda specialisation streams at Began Ayurveda Medical College. The overall intake approved for all the diverse courses is 122 and thereby creating plenty of chances for Ayurveda students. The basic course related to Ayurveda is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) but the Master of Ayurveda programmes provides higher study in sub-branches like Kayachikitsa, Samhitha and Siddanth, Swasthavritta and Panchakarma etc.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is not so bad as it is very old college. Library facility is very good. Benches are good. There is no canteen in the college campus. Hospital facilities are very good for the patients.
