    Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Patiala is one of the most renowned institutions in Ayurvedic teaching and serving community since 1952. It is affiliated college located at Patiala, Punjab and this college is approved by Central Council for Indian Medicine-CCIM. Covering an area of 12.42 acres the institute has 4 courses in 3 degrees specialising in the field of Ayurvedic system of medicine. The college intakes a total of 201 students and it has 18 teachers which keep a reasonable student-teacher ratio. It is clear that the institution has embraced Ayurvedic education as evident from the number of courses in the college, which are BAMS, MD programmes, Diploma in Ayurveda Pharmacy.

    Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital has got modern amenities to enhance the college education activities in this modern world. The facility also consists of 13, 927 journals, magazines, books and bulletins out of which 4,392 books are available in book bank for the reserved category students. The reading room is able to contain 50 student and staff while serving as a conducive study area. In terms of students’ housing, there are two different hostels for male and consortium female’s students, with the capacity 102 and 86 and have good contingents of messes each. From the basic needs, the college has invested in volley-ball, basket ball and_Athletics, by having playgrounds for different games. The institute also has an outstanding auditorium with sitting capacity of 400 which can be used for education programmes and occasions.

    Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Patiala offers total 4 courses through full-time mode of education across the schooling spectrum. BAMS Programme, for admission of 40 students, lays the foundation of the institute’s curriculum and forms the core programme at SRM. At postgraduate level, to name a few, the college offers MD seats in Rasashastra and Dravyaguna each for four. Further, Diploma in Ayurveda Pharmacy is also an initialised course for the students which will be completed in a year and twenty students would be taken in this course. For all the courses offered approval has been given to have an intake of 88 students per academic year.
