Government Ayurvedic College is one of the reputed Ayurvedic colleges located in Warangal of Telangana; it was started in 1956. Approved by the Central Council for Indian Medicine at 11-1-214, Labour Colony, Narsampet Road, Warangal, this affiliated college came into existence on May 3, 2004. It is an educational co-educational campus constituting 5.17 acres of area, catering to aspirants groomed to be Ayurvedic physicians. It has a total student enrolment of 237, and the faculty strength is 17; thus, it offers a single degree programme in Ayurveda.
Government Ayurvedic College is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal. Government Ayurvedic College has the following facilities for the purpose of improving the learning opportunities of the students. Included among these facilities are separately hosted accommodations for boys and girls to enhance out-of-station students’ comfort. The institute boasts of having a good library that allows the students access to a host of literature and research in Ayurveda. Departmental laboratories contain practical information concerning different aspects of the Ayurvedic system of medicine.

The campus provides modern information technology facilities for the implementation of IT-supported classroom learning. Government Ayurvedic College, Warangal, doesn’t admit students for more than one course in general; however, it offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course only at the undergraduate level. The six-year full-time programme is named according to its content and the scope of training that a student receives in Ayurvedic education. The sanctioned intake for the college is 50 for the BAMS course, which is to say that there will be adequate attention paid to individual students. Such specialisation helps the institute to keep up high standards of education in Ayurved, as well as to train skilled Ayurvedic practitioners.
