This is an allied health science co-educational college placed in Thrissur district and it provides various courses in nursing for those who is seeking to build a career in health care industry. It is recognised by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, and is also approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) to maintain course standard and quality. The Government College of Nursing at Thrissur has a range of nursing courses for education at different levels. The institute offers seven full-time courses which range from under graduate and post graduate courses, as well as doctoral courses. The largest one is the four years Bachelor for Science in Nursing programme, which normally intakes 66 students each year. In the postgraduate level courses, the college offers different M.Sc courses in Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing and Medical Surgical Nursing for 4-5 students each.
