Government Degree College, Khairathabad, also known as GDC Khairathabad is an acknowledged college in Hyderabad of Telangana state. This affiliated college was set up in 1973, thus, it has been providing education to the community for over forty nine years. The campus areas covers an area of 2.98 acres and is located at city centre of Hyderabad to facilitate easy access by the students. GDC Khairathabad embarks undergraduate programmes in numerous fields; it has 35 courses and 5 different graduating types. The college has got accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) this means the college aims at providing quality education. The college spreads over a total area of 92 acres and has a total strength of 3,605 students with a faculty strength of 70 meaning a healthy student-teacher ratio.

The college has a library that has acquired approximately 33,000 volumes, and every course offered in the college is represented. This system of open access means that students and faculty can scan through the book collection and choose books on their own without externally imposed guidance. GDC Khairathabad also has equipped laboratories for different departments where student can practically learn and gain experiences about their fields of specialisation. The Department of Physical Education is a several stimuli for sports enthusiasts who have different chances to participate in athletic events. The campus has well established IT facilities to provide the technology that is new and up-to-date for the students’ use in the campus. Other facilities include a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and a health centre with first aid facilities adding to the philosophy of campus facilities.

The college provides the complete undergraduate spectrum of interests thus yielding a wide range of programs. The course that are offered here are standard like B.Com Computer Applications and Taxation., B.Sc,and BA with different groups in sciences and social sciences, and BBA & BCA. All programmes are ONDE full-time and therefore takes three years to complete. The biggest capacity is 420 in B.Com Computer Applications, and 300 seats are provided for B.Sc with majors in Applied Nutrition, Botany, and Zoology. Other course like BBA, BCA & B.Com (Taxation) include 60 seats each. Such a variety of programmes contributes to the idea that the student can select a subject area that he or she would like to build a career in.

Admission process at GDC Khairathabad is fairly selective. They are admitted from different classes and choices are made according to the qualifying marks as prescribed by the government.
