Government Degree College Morthad was established in the year 2009 and functions under administrative control of the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of Telangana. The college currently offers only undergraduate-level programmes in the field of Arts, Science and Commerce.

GDC Morthad, an affiliated College of Telangana University, Nizamabad, offers BA, BSc and BCom programmes to students. The BSc course is offered in Life Sciences and Physical Sciences specialisations. Admission to all the undergraduate level programmes is based on merit.
