Government Degree College, Ramban is an affiliated college which was set up in 2005 at Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir. Located at Chanderkot, this institution occupies a total area of 5.625 acres; a perfect place for learning. The college is fully accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) indicating our conformity to quality standards. At present, the total number of students is 743 and the total number of faculties is 15, therefore, it offers individual attention. Government Degree College, Ramban has laid down three UG programs for students pursuing their academic interests and training them to face the world challenges.

The college has a number of assets which are meant to complement and improve the learning process. Amongst its academic facilities is a library holding about 9,000 books, periodicals and references. It is the university’s integrated knowledge resource centre available for use to all students and members of staff with a physical space accommodation of sixty readers. Technological aspect pledges a befitting college and the institutions’ computer laboratory was well equipped with more than fifteen computers. To support the teaching and practical, the institution has five functional laboratories to provide practical experiences to science students. The college also lays focus on physical education so the college provides TT, Wrestling, Badminton, Chess, Volleyball, Kabbadi and Kho-Kho among others. Another aspect, showing the college’s consideration of transport facilities are two 41 seater’s buses operated to transport the students from Batote, Ramban town and nearby regions. 

Government Degree College, Ramban offers three full-time undergraduate programmes: Such as; Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Arts (BA), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). All of them last for three years giving the student an all-round knowledge in that particular discipline. Total student intake capacity of the college is 743, which show the college’s policy to have good student teacher ratio.
