Government Degree College, Yadgir, is one of the most reputed colleges, also known as GDC Yadgir, presenting its courses in Yadgir, Karnataka. This is a co-educational college that was started in 1979 and thus has been providing community services for over four decades. It is affiliated with Gulbarga University, and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council's (NAAC) accreditation validates it’s desire to provide quality education. GDC Yadgir caters for a number of course offerings, with 33 courses from 11 degrees offered at the institute.

Facilities at the GDC Yadgir campus are well developed to ensure smooth academic and personal development of students. The college library also forms one of the largest in Gulbarga University, with more than 36,000 books in many courses and subjects, competitive examinations, and reference books. For the technology-advanced users, there are two computer laboratories excellently equipped for the students, aside from separate laboratories for Physics and Chemistry students.

The facility at GDC Yadgir has sections in Arts, Commerce, and Science and offers a variety of courses. This college offers bachelor degrees, namely BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, and BCA, as well as masters degrees, including MA, MCom, MSc, and MSW. Further, the institution provides a Ph.D. course in Kannada and a postgraduate diploma in computer applications (PGDCA) to fulfil student’s various academic needs and intentions.

The college also believes in the welfare of students, in particular the undergraduate students. In this respect, 60% of students are on scholarships. This support system ensures quality education becomes a reality for a larger population of the society.
