Bengaluru's Government Film and Television Institute of India, with its origin in 1943, is located in the middle of Karnataka State. This prestigious institution, located on a large 25-acre plot of land, has been determining the evolution of the movie and television industry for nearly 80 years. Diploma programmes get approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as the institute offers technical and creativity-orientated programmes that are fit for the film technical world. Its faculty comprises a simple team of 5 members, yet experienced professionals to provide tender and touch, experienced and professional career education to the students.

The Diploma in Cinematography programme is offered, and the programme is having a total intake of 33 students, and the main option of this programme is to educate the students on aspects of motion picture photography. At the same time, the Diploma in Sound Recording and Engineering, with a cohort of 17 learners, dissects the technicalities of audio production for film and television.
