Like the B.Ed programme, admissions are merit-based taking into account marks scored in the entry examination and/or entrance test. Admission policy is in accordance with the guidelines of the UT Administration and state government. Sanctioned strength for the D.El.Ed programme is 50 students per year.

For both programs, the college will be at liberty to adopt any other procedure of selection as mandated by the Tamil Nadu state government and the associate university. The procedural flexibility enables the convenience of adopting changing guidelines for admission.
