Government First Grade College in Haliyal (GFGCH), being an esteemed college, is located in Uttar Kannada, Karnataka. This co-educational college was founded in 1983 and has been preparing young people for their future for almost 40 years. The college is affiliated with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). GFGCH is a public liberal arts college spread over a 6 acre area with their 1,445 learners enroled for a broad spectrum of undergraduate courses. The college can also pride itself with near equal gender distribution with 63% being female students while 37% are male students. At present, the institution has 19 faculty members who are well equipped to assure a healthy student-faculty ratio to qualify students.

It has seveeral modern facilities for its academic activities. The library being one of the chief assets of learning and has a collection of about twenty seven thousand books, references and journals.
