Government Girls Degree College, Varanasi, is a premier girls' institution in the heart of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This affiliated college was started in the millennium year 2000 and has emerged as a frontline college, with a strength of more than students within a span of two decades. The college spreads over 8 acres, providing an ideal setting for academic rigor and all-round development. The college has gained a grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which clearly indicates an improvement in quality education. At present, 638 students are enrolled in GGDC Varanasi, with a faculty strength of 12 members. It is these numbers that make the learning procedure personalised in nature. The institution provides 2 courses in 2 different degree programmes, to which diverse academic interests affiliate under arts and commerce streams. 

GGDC Varanasi has numerous modern facilities in pursuit of its commitment to education. The college library is a storehouse of knowledge with 10,000 text-books of which there are 500 reference books, in addition to 10 periodicals and 4 dailies. A computer section with 20 computers and an internet connection, along with a Xerox machine, facilitates the technological needs of the students. Courses offered in this college include undergraduate programmes. Undergraduate courses include BA and B.Com.
