About Government Girls Polytechnic, Amethi
Government Girls Polytechnic, Amethi, was established in the year 1986 as a constituent college of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. The institute, affiliated with the AICTE, is hence specialised in offering just technical education to the girls. Spread across a 10-acre campus, the polytechnic offers two diploma programmes with a total student enrolment of 358. The institute has a faculty strength of 13 members, thus ensuring that the students are provided individual attention.
Government Girls' Polytechnic, Amethi, has two major fields of study: Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics Engineering. The institution boasts of the presence of all types of facilities that can facilitate learning among students. The major resources involved are the Library widely representative of all branches of engineering, computer science, information technology, and basic sciences and languages. There is also a separate Book Bank catering to SC/BC and economically weaker sections, having 1,142 books. The polytechnic provides modern IT infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories to practice, and sports facilities for all-around development. Added to comfort of the students and visitors are a cafeteria, an auditorium, and guest rooms.
Government Girls Polytechnic, Amethi is presently offering two full-time diploma courses, each of three years. The emphasis of the institute on technical education is shown by the courses offered. Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, and another one in Electronics Engineering. Each programme has a sanction intake of 60 students; hence, it would amount to 120 seats for both of the courses.
