Government Girls Polytechnic, Shamli, affiliated in 1989, is located in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. This institution has been approved by the AICTE and imparts technical education only to women. The polytechnic is spread over 6.8 acres with a total intake of 206 students in three diploma courses. There are 11 faculty members in the institute, which allows for personalised attention to students. Government Girls Polytechnic, Shamli has three major specialisations: Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Fashion Designing and Garment Technology. The institute currently provides three courses: Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, and Diploma in Fashion Designing and Garment Technology. These diploma courses are oriented toward developing practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the respective fields. The total approved intake for these courses is 150 seats, out of which 30 seats have been sanctioned for the Electronics Engineering course, 60 for Computer Science and Engineering, and another 60 for Fashion Designing and Garment Technology. All diploma courses are structured for three years. This allows the students to spend sufficient time learning and getting practical experience in their respective field. 

The admission procedure to Government Girls Polytechnic, Shamli is quite simple and based on merit. The admissions are based on the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by JEECUP.
