Government Polytechnic Ambala was established in 1929. Initially Govt. Polytechnic, Ambala City was started as a Government Industrial School in 1929. Later on the institute was developed to metal works Institute in 1933 which became in 1948 and from that point it was known as Government Technical Institute.
