The Government Polytechnic Banda is an affiliated college of Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, Lucknow. It was established in 1984 and approved by AICTE. The college offers three diploma programmes in Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering Industrial Control with an intake of 60 students each. Admissions to the Government Polytechnic Banda are based on the performance of the candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) conducted by the board.
The eligibility criteria for appearing in the entrance examination is that the candidates must have passed class 10th or equivalent with at least 35% marks in aggregate. The Government Polytechnic Banda also offers various facilities for students. The facilities include a library, a computer lab, a sports ground, laboratories, a medical centre, a cafeteria, a guest room, a waiting room and spacious classrooms.
