About Government Polytechnic, Bhagalpur
Government Polytechnic, Bhagalpur was established as a Bhagalpur School of Engineering with the objective of imparting quality higher education in the field of Engineering and Technology at par with national standards.
GP Bhagalpur covers an area of nearly 50 acres with four green campuses, Main Campus, Kanchankar Campus, Sri Bhavan Campus, and Lakshmi Bhavan Campus, not far from the banks of the Ganges at Barari.

The Government Polytechnic, Bhagalpur was established on 31 May 1955 under the name Bhagalpur School of Engineering under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. It was later renamed to its present name Bihar.
Initially started with a Diploma in Civil Engineering with an intake capacity of 30, later it was increased to 60. Diploma in Agricultural Engineering was started in 1977 with an intake of 20 and later it was increased to 30. In 1992, Diploma in Textile Technology & Textile Design was started with an intake capacity of 30 and the branch was renamed Diploma in Textile Engineering in 2008.
Diploma in Electronics Engineering and Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering have been launched with an intake capacity of 60 each with a recent and employment generating capacity. GP Bhagalpur courses include Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Textile Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering.
The GP Bhagalpur facilities include various Laboratories, Furniture, a Hostel, a Playground, EDUSAT, Virtual Learning by Google Classroom and Microsoft Team, a Canteen, a library, etc. The GP Bhagalpur fees for the General category will be INR 3990 and INR 3490 for DQ/ SC/ ST/ Female candidates.
In general, GP Bhagalpur placement procedures are adopted as per the requirements of the hiring company. However, the common procedures of GP Bhagalpur campus recruitment are as follows: -

By Air: The nearest airport to Bhagalpur is located in Patna.
By Road: Bhagalpur is connected to Patna through the National highway. The distance is about 225 km which takes around five hours by road.
By Train: It is well connected through railways to the major cities of India.
