Government Polytechnic, Chamoli, was established in the year 1979 at Gauchar, Uttarakhand. This affiliated college with the state technical university is considered among the best technical institutions, approved by AICTE New Delhi, offering various diploma programmes in different streams of engineering. The sprawling 6-acre campus of the institute has a total student enrolment of 361 and a faculty strength of 4. The admission procedure of Government Polytechnic Chamoli, is merit-based and is carried out in a systematic way. All prospective students shall be required to appear for the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics (Uttarakhand JEEP), which is conducted every year by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee. Admission into the Government Polytechnic, Gauchar, shall be granted on the basis of the above-mentioned entrance examination through counseling.
