    Government Polytechnic College Kargil started in the year of 2005 is situated at Khurbathang Kargil Jammu and Kashmir. Approved with this All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), this technical institution provide Diploma in the different branches of engineering. The college at present has a total student strength of 118 with a faculty of 5, the kind and texture of learning that the college facilitates is best suited to young engineers to be. It currently provides three, three-year, full time diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

    Physical facilities are well developed in the Government Polytechnic College for the achievement of the students’ academic and personal needs. A good stock library assigns knowledge centre where material for adequate study and research is stocked. Each department has a laboratory where the theory can be taught alongside its real-life application. It also features well equipped IT facilities adding that students are always informed of the existing technological developments. To the learners from other provinces, the institute offers hostel for both male and female students so as to enhance the interaction among them and create an atmosphere conducive for learning.

    Many students while taking subjects in class 11 gets confused between maths and science, the only major difference between maths & science is that along with physics and chemistry you have to study maths in maths(PCM) and Biology in science(PCB)
