Government Polytechnic Madhepura was established in 2016 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Bihar (Now Department of Science, Technology & Technical Education Department), with the aim of setting up an effective technical education system in Bihar. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
