Located in the Akola district of the Amravati division of Maharashtra, Government Polytechnic, Murtizapur is a Government Polytechnic college, which offers diploma courses. The college was established in 2009 with a vision for social transformation and upliftment of rural masses through quality Technical education. The college is affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai and is recognised by The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

The college offers diploma programs in five streams- Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Being a government-owned college, it is the most affordable Polytechnic college in the Akola district. The teaching quality is great and well organised. There is a dedicated placement cell, which regularly conducts workshops and seminars to nurture the students and make them job-ready.
