Government Polytechnic, Pratapnagar, was established in the year 2013 at the beautiful village of Okhalakhal, Patti Raika, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. This government-aided institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and imparts quality education in the field of engineering. Equipped with a total faculty strength of 6 dedicated professionals, the institute strives hard to give practical technical training to budding engineers. Presently, the institute offers a Diploma in Civil Engineering to orient students towards this very important field of infrastructure development. This programme has an approved enrolment of 60 seats, thus providing a very favourable student-to-faculty ratio and hence personalised attention and learning.

The polytechnic has various facilities to enhance learning for its students.
