Government Polytechnic, Purnea: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Government Polytechnic Purnea (GP Purnea) is one of the oldest polytechnics of Koshi area of Bihar. Set up in 1960, the institute is affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education Bihar and recognised by AICTE as well as the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Bihar. Government Polytechnic Purnea courses include diploma in engineering courses in five branches namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and computer science and engineering. Government Polytechnic Purnea admissions are done on the basis of Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

For lateral admissions candidates must appear DCECE LE exam. Government Polytechnic Purnea facilities include classrooms, computer centre, workshops, a well stocked library. Another highlight of the institute is the training and placement cell that manages the Government Polytechnic Purnea placements. The cell is headed by a training and placement officer and is responsible for managing placement activities, career counselling and organising industrial visits for students.

Government Polytechnic Purnea is located in Purnea Bihar on a 30 acre campus. The campus is one of the oldest polytechnics and has residential facilities for the principal and staff of the college. Purnea is located at a distance of over 300 Km from the state capital of Patna. The nearest airport to the city is the Bagdogra airport.
