Government Polytechnic, Yavatmal is a renowned institution providing technical education to the students. Established in 1994 as the Government Residential Women's Polytechnic, Yavatmal aimed at providing quality technical education exclusively to girls. However, in 2018, the institute underwent a significant transformation, adopting a more inclusive approach and embracing co-education for both boys and girls. 

Government Polytechnic, Yavatmal offers Diploma in Engineering courses in various disciplines. The courses offered by the institutes include Diploma in (Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering). The institute is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), recognized by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
