Government Shyam Sundar Narayan Mushran Mahila Mahavidyalaya is situated in the district headquarter of Narsinghpur under Jabalpur division of madhya pradesh. The college was founded in 1982 in the loving memory of late shri shyam sundar narayan mushran the former finance minister of MADHYA PRADESH. The college enjoys its status of being the only women's institute in the district providing higher education to the women. The college is registered under 2f and 12b  regulation of the UGC and is affiliated to the Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.  

The college has a sufficient teaching learning infrastructure in a lush green campus spread over 10 acres of land where it also has a huge playground, library, computer lab, mini gym and hostel facilities which add to the holistic development of students. The college has two faculties of arts and home science under which it offers 8 subjects at UG level and PG in sociology activities like NCC, sports and various other cultural programs which are significant part of the curriculum are carried on throughout the academic year. The college caters to diverse educational and vocational needs of young women by providing equal learning opportunities to all, particularly SC, ST, OBC girls and those belonging to weaker sections of the society.

Government Shyam Sundar Narayan Mushran Women's College, Narsinghpur, an affiliated College of Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur offers four full-time Programmes. These are full-time indergraduate and postgraduate programmes, B.A., B.Com and MA.
