There are number of GTTCs across the state of Karnatakethe GTTC, Maddur is a separate institute established in the year 2000 at Somanahalli, Karnataka. An AICTE recognised institution offering technical education in particular stream of tool and die making. Currently, GTTC Maddur is located on a small 5-acre land, has 169 students in total indicating that it is a college that offers specialised training in a capsule environment. 

Like any other educational institution, GTTC Maddur has basic amenities that enable it to accomplish its mandate. To support the educational initiative, the institute has a rich library with both local and international technical books and articles, and other essentials for the learning of tool and die making. Further, the college have departmental laboratories where the students can practice by applying the theories in practice. The institute’s main product is its three year full time Diploma in Tool and Die Making course. The objective of this programme is to develop competent personnel in the area of tool and die making to support industrial development.
