About Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Mangalore

With an aim of developing skilled professional especially in tool engineering and precision manufacturing, a Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) was started in Mangalore in the year 1994. This affiliated college is situated in Baikampady, Mangalore, and the college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Currently GTTC Mangalore has two types of specialised diploma programmes to meet the increasing need for technical competencies in manufacturing industries.

In GTTC Mangalore, students use various current infrastructures that could assist them and make their studies easier. Facilities and Infrastructure: The college has well equipped departmental laboratories, where practical sessions are indispensable in offering arms for practical experience. With the increased reliance on technology in the modern industrial world, the institute has provided cutting edge IT facilities, so that students can be acquainted to most modern technologies. In the same way, GTTC Mangalore also ensures that alumni, with good working networks, are important experiences that are crucial to students’ lifestyles.

Now there are two full-time diploma courses at the institute, for each of which takes three years to complete. The Diploma in Tool and Die Making program with an assessment capacity of 60 students and the Diploma in Precision Manufacturing taking 30 students. Each of the offered courses is constructed with great consideration towards the topic in question, attempting to equip the learner with solid theoretical background knowledge as well as stressing the overall practical application of their chosen field of study. 

The Goal of the admission process in Mangalore GTTC is that it should identify candidates capable of pursuing technical courses.

  5. Entrance Exam: May be conducted to assess aptitude for technical courses.

  6. Merit List: Prepared based on qualifying exam results and/or entrance exam scores.

  7. Counseling and Seat Allotment: This is the stage where selected candidates will attend the counseling session for allocation of seats based on merit and preference.

  8. Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation: Selected candidates would confirm enrollment through the payment of fees and submission of original documents.

Degree-wise Admission Process

  • Diploma in Tool and Die Making:
    Three-year diploma course with the aim of imparting skills in tool and die making. Admission is likely to be on merit in the qualifying exam and probably through an entrance test.

  • Diploma in Precision Manufacturing:
    A three-year diploma dealing with techniques in precision manufacturing. Admission pattern will be similar to that of the Tool and Die Making diploma.

  • Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning:
    Teaches students the application of AI and ML in manufacturing. Admission criteria may include mathematics and computer science subjects in the scope of an important base at the 10+2 level.
