Government Women Polytechnic College is located at Bikaner, Rajasthan which came into existence in 1988-89 and the college aims to produce technically competent and employment oriented women engineers. Situated at Sadul Ganj Bikaner Rajasthan India This is an affiliated college and is approved by AICTE of India. There are four diploma programmes available at the institute that ensure technical education for various fields. The college has a strength of 111 students intake per admission year and 20 members of faculty; hence it offers adequate individual attention and good value to the students.

The college has numerous infrastructural facilities aimed equally at the improvement of learning among students and their all round development. A good reference collection holds work and information’s relevant to academic activities. The institution has endowed every department with laboratories equipped with modern technology to enable students afford practical experience in their different fields of specialization. The college has two large, comfortable and fully furnished girls’ hostels for the students who need accommodations. While one of the hostels can accommodate 39 students the other one has the provision to accommodate 50 students. It features a blend of security safety, comfort and vitality of the facility inclusive of common room with colour television and i indoor game amenities. There is also well equipped Information Technology facilities, an event and seminar hall called auditorium and sports facilities to ensure students get a well rounded college education.

The specialty of this GTM affiliated institute is that it offers four full time diploma courses each of three years duration. It offers these diploma courses; Diploma in Costume Design and Dress Making, Diploma in Textile Design, Diploma in Electronic Engineering, and Diploma in Robotics Engineering. Currently the college has total approved intake capacity of 140 students for all courses where for Costume Design and Dress Making and Textile Design the intake capacity is 40, for Electronic Engineering and Robotics Engineering it is 30 each. This diverse nature of the programmes enable students to call for a field of their choice in order to specialisations as per their dreams.
