Hindustan Institute of Technology and Management is an affiliated college directly regulated by the Ambala-based Hindustan Institute of Technology and Management, which was established in the year 2008. On a sprawling 10.7 acres of land, the institute offers various diploma courses in engineering and medical laboratory technology at the undergraduate level. The institute is approved by AICTE, thus assuring that quality education is imparted to students by maintaining national standards. With 175 as the total student enrolment and a faculty strength of 29, HITM provides an enviable learning environment. The Institute offers four diploma programs catering to varied career aspirations: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Medical Laboratory Technology.

HITM has facilities to enrich the college experience and support academics. The institute's library filled with an excess of 15,000 books related to different genres, including national and international journals, magazines, and encyclopedias. Students get to use e-library facilities and digital subscriptions through DELNET and J-GATE. There are well-established laboratories within the campus itself for hands-on learning experiences. HITM has a first-aid facility and a sick room for the medical emergencies and health of its students, with a medical officer and a healthcare assistant. This institute also offers comprehensive hostel facilities for boys and girls and provides out-of-town students with a comfortable and congenial atmosphere. All hostels are fully air-conditioned, well-furnished, complete with recreation rooms, and equipped with nutritious meal services.

These four full-time diploma courses are with three years duration each, designed for various streams in Engineering and Medical Laboratory Technology. These programs together have an approved intake capacity of 180 seats at HITM.  

The institute has clear and quite approachable admission procedures for aspiring students. The institute follows the common academic calendar to most of the technical institutions in India. Basically, it is a diploma institute, and the admissions to diplomas are dealt with differently than those of the degree courses. Normally, students passing the 10th standard or its equivalent are eligible for admission to these diploma courses.
