About IIHT Salem

Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) came into existence in 1960. The Institute is working under the administrative control of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The IIHT courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and the institute is affiliated with Anna University Chennai. The institute offers various courses in the field of handloom and textile technology. 

The IIHT courses include the B.Tech in Handloom and Textile Technology, Diploma, Post Diploma and skill development courses. Before applying for a desired course, the candidates should meet the IIHT eligibility criteria. The candidates must take the appropriate entrance exam, such as JEE Main.
