Indira College of Education, Thiruvallur was established in the year 2006 is placing itself towards building the future of educational system. Sri Balaji EDUCATION är en co-educational institution that is domiciled in V.G.R Gardens, V.G.R Nagar, Pandur, Thiruvallur – Tamil Nadu and occupies 5 acres of land. The institute is credited for provision of quality education as to the accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Like any affiliated college, it is an authorized college with approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE of India and follows national standards of education.

This college has made provision for the most effective and up to date learning facilities in order to meet its students’ learning needs. A well-stocked library acts as an information center; information technology provides a knowledge of trends in the use of information technology in learning. Sports lovers are well provided for,with a gym as well as many other facilities for sporting activities. The campus also equipped with auditorium to organize the events and seminars to enhance the environment of the campus academic. For the food needs of the learner and the teaching faculty, a cafeteria facility has been provided for kitchen and cooking services whereas, for the practical sessions learning laboratories have been provided. The availability of the guest rooms and waiting areas show that the college is considerate to visiting any faculty or students ‘ families.

Currently Indira College of Education is offering two full course programmes in the faculty of education. The, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme with one hundred students’ capacity ensure that the educators have the proper grounds in the pedagogy lesson. For students who wish to take their knowledge further, the Master of Education (M.Ed) takes 50 students to conduct research and teach more specific classes in education. 

Qualification criteria in the Indira College of Education are that students are offered admission based on their marks in previous examinations and/or entrance test. In case of B.Ed programme, the admission is RV through policy made by the state government, UT administration and the university to which the college is affiliated to.
