About Indira Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Kancheepuram

The dream of Indira Engineering College for Women was fulfilled through the establishment of Indira Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology for Women at Kancheepuram in the year 2008.. This affiliated college is situated at Athur Village, adjacent to Chengalpattu-Kancheepuram High Road and comprises a vast 16 acres of land. As a growing technical institute, the college has four B.E. courses and employs 32 skilled faculty members. 

This institute boasts of a number of facilities as a way of improving the learning facilities for the course Chadda (2012). The campus includes well-equipped laboratory that meets the industry standard so that the students come out with the practical knowledge in lieu of the theories taught. The well-equipped computer center with state of the art computer hardware, software and computer networking system, internet and Wi-Fi connection of 2MBPS enables students in catering with technological growth. It’s actually a storehouse of knowledge containing an enormous number of books, including e-journal, and all sorts of digital stuff relevant to science, technology, engineering, and humanities. For physical fitness, the college has the provision of an ultra modern gym, and some major games facilities like volleyball, cricket, hockey and basket ball etc.

Indira Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology for Women offers four full-time undergraduate engineering programs: Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering, Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology.
