IHM Bhubaneswar, Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar is one of the reputed schools in the field of hospitality studies. This affiliated college was set up in 1973 and is located in the capital city of Odisha. Situated over a vast 7.323 acres of land, IHM Bhubaneswar has started its journey of creating competent leaders for the hospitality industry nearly five decades ago. The institute provides a wide spectrum of programmes: 5 courses in 4 degrees, developed in different areas of hotel management and catering industry. The institute has a total intake of 677 students and faculty of 15, which thus guarantees optimum attention and good education to the students interested to build a career in hospitality industry.

Due to hi-tech facilities, Institute of Hotel Management Bhubaneswar has been receiving all kinds of modern amenities for the improvement of the students’ learning atmosphere. It has opposed to to providing computer laboratories for the double number of students with office chairs containing connected tables and Wi-Fi span across the institute floor. In terms of a functional area laboratory, there is a state-of-the-art House keeping Lab with equipments of cleaning even star hotels as well as Fully operational laundry Lab. Institute of Hotel Management provides a complete set of courses for different segments of hospitality management. There are five full-time programmes available at IHM Bhubaneswar, that is, under graduate, post graduate and diploma. The largest recognised programme offer is for B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration which intake 288 students every academic year. Other programmes are M.Sc in Hospitality Administration and Post Graduate Diploma in Accommodation Operation Management, Diploma in Food Production and Diploma in Bakery and Confectionery. These programmes are intended for providing students with knowledge and skills which are crucial in the continuously growing field of hospitality.

IHM Bhubaneswar is very particular when it comes to choosing students in its programmes which is why the admission process is structured in a way to ensure the right candidates are selected. For admission to the B. Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and the M. Sc in Hospitality Administration, a central entrance test conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management and Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE) is conducted for admissions. The students take a national level examination to make sure that only the right and enthusiastic students get into the programme. More surprisingly, in case of B.Sc Programme, the candidates can also sit for JEE for a provisional entry which is another opportunity for the students.
