The JD Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Aligarh, was set up in the year 2003, is one of the noted institutions for Ayurvedic education and health care. This co-educational educational institution is placed at Bhankari, G.T. Road, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. JD Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Aligarh, also is an affiliated college and is Central Council for Indian Medicine approved. There are 6 courses under 2 degrees wherein a wide spectrum of Ayurvedic medicine is being covered. This library can accommodate 100 students in its hall and has an additional reading room attached to it for the purpose of carrying out research and study. Sports facilities are also open to all students for physical well-being. It is equipped with well-appointed laboratories and meets all stipulated norms. More importantly, the 60-bed Ayurvedic Hospital is spread over more than 4 acres and has a covered area of 5500 square meters for practical exposure to the students. The number of courses that can be availed is 6, all full time.

The institution teaches courses in Ayurveda at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The backbone course is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, with 50 seats. In PG, it offers five courses, which it takes six candidates each except MD Kayachikitsa; with which there are five seats. The Institute runs special courses in MD Ayurved Samhita and Siddhanta, MD Rachna Sharir, MD Kriya Sharir, MD Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, and MD Kayachikitsa. With an intake of students in all courses being 79, it indicates that learning is focused on being personal. Admission of the student for this JD Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital college is based on merit. The admission process is relatively structured.

Admission to the BAMS course is through an entrance test conducted by the Association of Private Ayurved, Unani, and Homeopathic College of U.P. The test is conducted by an independent body, and the candidates are admitted to the department based on their position in the merit list. Postgraduate courses: For entry into C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur, the entrance examination is conducted as per the university's instruction. The college has grading, and students get admitted based on their marks into the college of their choice. Entrance examinations, such as NEET at the undergraduate level and NEET PG at the postgraduate level, mark critical criteria by which undergraduate as well as postgraduate students receive entry into the college.
