Arignar Anna Institute of Teacher Education, Nagamalai, formerly known as KAPI College of Education, Madurai, is a self-financed college which was started in the academic year 2006–2007 in the city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. This co-educational institute is recognised by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) for its recognised norms for teacher education. KAPI College of Education is located on a 10.71-acre piece of land, and its student enrolment capacity is 100 and faculty strength is 13, exclusively for teacher education.

Arignar Anna Institute of Teacher Education has all facilities necessary for students that are supposed to improve the process of learning. They provide academic library and learning material that supplements the course learning and fosters research, having a learning centre for students. To support understanding and theoretical concepts, the KAPI College of Education has several functional and well-equipped laboratories. They comprise a psychology lab for the study of educational psychology, a language lab for acquiring interpersonal skills, a computer lab for utilising computers in the learning process, an educational technology (ET) lab to get acquainted with the newly available teaching aids, and a physical science as well as a bio-science lab for practical exercises related to the subjects.

KAPI College of Education has only one course that is offered as a full-time regular course – the Bachelors in Education. The above-focused approach enables the college to channel all its resource mobilisation into delivering quality teacher education. The sanctioned intake for the B.Ed programme is 100, which is also the strength of the institute taking admission in this programme.

Admission procedures followed by KAPI College of Education include policies placed down by the State Government/UT Administration and affiliated universities. All admission processes are based on merit, meanwhile giving consideration to the marks that students scored in the qualification examination or the entrance exam.
