Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing KVCN was started in 2010 in Kancheepuram of the Tamil Nadu state. Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, DMI group of colleges has a co-educational college for imparting quality education in nursing. KVCN’s campus is a reasonably large one that resides on approximately 7.72 acres of land The institute offers 6 courses under two degrees and has a total of 194 students. Approval of the college is done by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India (NAAC) while the Indian Nursing Council (INC) accredits the college. With a strength of 11 faculty members, KVCN offers quality education to nursing students regarding the advanced level of healthcare.

Karpaga Vinayaga College has several infrastructural facilities that enshrine the learning facilities and the general growth of the student. facilities include boys and girls hostels with RO water facility, ample eating, and sitting arrangements, proper comfortable and neat rooms with a 24-hour electricity supply. For academic related activities KVCN has a contemporary library, well equipped laboratory, and an enhanced Information Technology facility. The college has a health centre fitted, gym and sports amenities in the college compound for the well being of the students. also there is KIMs hospital in the campus which provide immediate medical attention in the event of an emergency. In creating the moulded campus life, KVCN also offers an auditorium for programmes and seminar, cafeterias offering healthy foods and special guest quarters for teaching faculty and families.

To meet the client’s goal in the health sector, KVCN has allowed various avenues for one to pursue a career in nursing and include the following. The institute offers both bachelor and master degree programmes and all 6 programmes are offered full time. At the undergraduate level KVCN has a four year B.Sc Nursing programme which admits 50 students in a single intake. For postgraduate studies, the college offers five specialised 2-year M.Sc Nursing programmes for which the college take five students for each programme. They include; Medical-surgical Nursing, Children’s Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing. Such a structure of course makes it possible for the students to follow their niche interest within nursing as a discipline.
