Khalsa College of Physical Education, Heir was established in 2009 affiliated college which is situated in Amritsar Punjab. This institution is located on a large piece of land of 9.493 acres and seeks to produce future professionals in the field of physical education. The college is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which makes them to deliver quality education related to physical education. Currently the faculty members are 12 strong and the college offers 5 courses in 2 degree programmes being devoted to physical education and sports management.

Khalsa College of Physical Education has a number of amenities that are in place to complement learning activities for the learners. A gym and dance hall caters for the students’ body fitness workouts whilst the various sports fields meet the requirement of the different code of sports. It is also an information centre where students obtain information to foster their learning process. To cater for student’s needs since they are young and sometimes get sick there is a medical centre that offers first aid services. Modern IT infrastructures are also provided throughout this college, to support the students’ connection in the current computer age. The students travelling from out of town are offered comfortable hostels for boys and girls as separate units. This is proving to be a plus for students because there is cafeteria where they can sit and interact or just relax. Laboratories are used to provide the more functional sides of the curriculum and an auditorium is used to host many different events and guest seminars adding to the overall college ambiance.

In all the facilities at Khalsa College of Physical Education ; Heir provide Five full time courses inclusive of specialisations in physical education. These are; Undergraduate programmes: B.P.E.S (Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports), B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education), and B.P.Ed Integrated. Diploma programmes: D.P.Ed (Diploma in Physical Education) and Diploma in Sports Management. The college was granted permission to admit a total number of 150 students in its B.P.Ed, B.P.Ed Integrated and D.P.Ed course each for 50 students. Such a diverse course offering seeks to meet different needs of those pursuing careers in physical education and sports management.

The admission procedure for the Khalsa College of Physical Education, Heir also differs with regard to course type. Regarding the B.P.Ed programme the admission is merit based, which shall be calculated as per the score obtained in the entrance test in addition to the fitness test and interview test and the percentage in the qualifying examination.
