As a self-financed institute, Lala Jagat Narayan Education College, Fazilka, started in 2005 and offers higher education to students in the Punjab state of India. This is a coeducational college affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE]. Located in the village Chak Arian Wala on Mukatsar Road Jalalabad (W), the college has a variety of programmes in education. The institute has a total of 309 students and faculties, 33 in number, ensuring adequate learning facilities for prospective teachers. Across the different levels of education, the college provides three specialised courses, which effectively meet the needs of students, especially those who intend to venture into the teaching profession.

Lala Jagat Narayan Education College has numerous well-equipped and state-of-the-art facilities that are well suited to improving the learning process of students. The library, supplemented adequately, has more than fifteen thousand books that include textbooks, references, encyclopaedias, journals, and similar other documents. The institution boasts three computer laboratories with ninety computers and full internet amenities in part to ensure that the students are conversant with computer information technology. For physical fitness, the college provides international standard gyms for boys and girls, both with the latest equipment. The college also provides recreational facilities in terms of having sporting grounds, a gymnasium, and a hall for conducting meetings and seminars, etc. The college also has a health centre with first aid facilities. This E-Lab has proved to be functional, and a special one contains Linguaphone and teaching aids that peculiarly develop students on speaking, listening, reading and writing English.

Lala Jagat Narayan Education College currently has three regular courses, all of which are B.Ed. courses for teacher education.  The programmes available at Ballia are Bachelor of Education (B. Ed), Master of Education (M. Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). These programmes are meant to pull out students that want to be teachers at different levels, including the elementary or secondary schools, as well as education evaluators and planners.
