Mahakal Institute of Pharmaceutical Studies, Ujjain (MIPS Ujjain) was established in 2002 by Prasar Shikshan Evam Seva Sansthan and is part of Mahakal group of institutions. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The college is affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh (DTE, MP) and Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. The list of MIPS Ujjain courses include D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm (Pharmacognosy) and M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics). MIPS Ujjain admissions into D.Pharm and B.Pharm are done on the basis of MP Pre Engineering and Pharmacy Test (MP PEPT). Admissions to the M.Pharm courses are done through Graduates Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by NTA. MIPS Ujjain facilities include smart classrooms equipped with AV aids, library, laboratories and workshops, hostel facility for boys and girls, cafeteria, health centre, auditorium, play ground and transportation facility. MIPS Ujjain placements are managed by the training and placement cell of the Mahakal group of institutes. Centralised placements take place for the group institutions. The group has signed MoUs with several companies and also organises training and development programmes for its students.

Mahakal Institute of Pharmaceutical Studies Ujjain is located behind an airstrip on the Devas road in Ujjain. The campus is located in a spacious green campus a little far away from the city. The institute is located close to 20 Km from the Ujjain railway station. It can be reached by autos and buses plying from the city.
