Maharaj Balwant Singh Post Graduate College, founded in 1972, is an affiliated college situated at Rajatalab (Gangapur), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Located over a forty-acre land, the institution has been fashioned to accommodate a large number of academic programmes for the 2171 students enrolled in the university. This is a co-education institution which offers equal opportunities for learning to all students same both female and male. As of now, the college provides 8 courses under 5 degree programmes, particularly in Arts, Computing, Computer Applications and Laws. Currently, the faculty strength of the college consists of 13 qualified faculty members to look after the students' needs and provide quality education with a good student-faculty ratio. 

It is a government college affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP), Varanasi, and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).  Maharaj Balwant Singh Post Graduate College has provisions for various activities and learning utensils meant to improve the learning processes of the students. A multitude of resources is available in a well-stocked library that centralises students’ access to multiple different materials and media. Since most of the courses below are practical-oriented, the department-based laboratories can be seen to provide practical experience. The college has good Information and Technology development, and the students should be up to date with the advanced technology.
