The M.B.B College also known as Maharaja Bir Bikram College is one of the most recognised college situated in Agartala, Tripura. It was founded in 1947 as co-educational college and it is contributing in the field of education for more than seven decades. M.B.B College or M.B.B College of Bant/books is an affiliated college located in the wide and vast 64-acre campus and has been graded by NAAC. The college has 3,798 students and 65 teaching faculty, and teaching all together 25 courses under six degree programmes. They include 62% male and 38% female students and all are from the Tripura state of the country.

Maharaja Bir Bikram College has available a range of wonderful facilities to help promote its academic programmes. The West Bengal central library is a packed knowledge resource centre and room containing more than 69,000 books, journals, reference materials and manuscripts. It has two sections – one for teachers to read and another one for the students; It is restocked with new books and magazines periodically. The college has total approved intake of 3710 students for all its courses that are offered in the college. These distinctions are B.Com with Accountancy Major, B.Sc in Computer Science, B.Sc in Statistics, B.Sc in Physics, B.Sc in Botany and the BA in Economics, Geography, Psychology and various language.
