Malabar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre being set up in the year 2010 is one of the well – known medical college situated in Modakkallur, Kerala. This affiliated college recognized by NMC offers an abundance of medical programs at the levels of under-graduation and post-graduation. Located spread in 32 acres of land, the institute has a total student capacity of 750 and employs 259 full time faculty members. Malabar Medical College has been established as a future centre for medical education and research in Kerala after a short period of establishment in the field of healthcare education.

College can boast of having a number of amenities to enhance the learning process and to avail the student with the certain range of conveniences. The campus as well has accommodation for its students; there are two different hostels for boys and girls. A well equipped health center along with first aid facility to meet overall medical needs of the students. There is also very well developed IT ambiance in campus with modern facilities probably all the students need in their studies. Malabar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is linked with 3 degree levels, 19 courses and all the courses are full time. The most popular and important is the undergraduate program which is the MBBS program and has an expanded list of 200 students’ intake. At postgraduate level the specialties offered in the college include MD and MS in a variety of fields. Some of the observations made include The MD General Medicine, MD Paediatrics, MS Orthopaedics and MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology popular postgraduate courses which have 4 seats each. Some other exclusive courses are as follows- MD Dermatology Venereology and Leprosy, MS Ophthalmology, and MD Emergency Medicine in which they may admit limited students in a year.

Through the management of national level entrance tests, the college and hospital admits students through out the year to various courses offered in Malabar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. MBBS consists of 15 percent quota to Management/NRI, 85 percent to CET/NEET UG scores conducted across the country for admission.
