Mangalam College of Education, Ettumanoor, situated in Kottayam district, Kerala, was established in 1995, dedicated mainly to teacher training. This co-educational college, recognised by Mahatma Gandhi University and certified by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is located in a vast plot of 35 acres and provides 2 full-time teacher education programmes in total for 112 students. This institute is proud to have a faculty of 13 well-dedicated teaching faculty members that ultimately have also helped in maintaining a proper student-teacher ratio. Mangalam College of Education has a vision and mission of producing quality educators through its focused B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses.

It is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Mangalam College of Education has several facilities that enhance the learning activities of the students in the college. Of critical importance, the library with its rich collection of 8632 books and 10journalsl, ”The library has also attained d full automation system for the convenience of users. The college facilities for people interested in doing various sports activities, as well a student performances and other functions held in the auditorium. There are sophisticated laboratories on the campus, a modern health centre, the first AI, and a gym for students’ health. The infrastructure has features to support a modern learning approach,  and a cafeteria provides food solutions to the college populace. Female students who need the facility are offered a chance to take a seat in a hostel within the compound.

Mangalam College of Education has put in place two broad relevant programmes in education. The two courses are residential programmes which carry a full-time course of study aimed at producing effective teachers and leaders in education. The admission capacity of the  B.Ed course is 5,0, and the admission capacity of the M.Ed course is also 50. The presented opportunities are designed to give an education of academic concepts and practical methodologies; therefore, the receiving graduates will be best equipped to handle the complexity of the education industry.

The admission process of Mangalam College of Education is an entirely merit-based system according to the marks of the qualifying /entrance examination. The policy laid down by the State Government, the UT Administration and the University applies for admission into the B.Ed programme. Likewise, the MEdd programme offers admission strictly on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the entrance test as per the rules of the State Government, Central Government, University or UT Administration.
