    About Mata Shanti Devi Institute of Nursing, Sirsa

    Mata Shanti Devi Institute of Nursing, Sirsa in Haryana, was established in the year 2008 and is situated in Kalanwali, Haryana. This is a co-educational institute approved by INC for providing specialised nursing education on a 5-acre large campus. At present, the enrolment capacity in the healthcare institute is 36 while the teaching faculty is comprised of 26 members thus, providing appropriate individual attention. The institute offers two full-time nursing programmes, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM), to meet the need of those who wish to become health care professionals.

    Mata Shanti Devi Institute of Nursing has numerous amenities that can contribute in improving the learning process as well as development of the learners. Every educational institution requires a resource centre, a library filled with materials to support knowledge in nursing is a perfect example. It has a well-equipped professional campus with actualised laboratories where students have possibility to practice with available medical means in protected organism. There are hostels for boys and girls who want to stay in the school and be comfortable throughout their years of study. The institute also known about the importance of physical health, there are provided with sports facilities and gym. An auditorium in the campus is used for conduct of educational seminars, cultural or other functions, meetings, etc., that help in the development of the students’ spirit and fellow feeling among them and the faculty.

    Mata Shanti Devi Institute of Nursing teaches two basic nursing courses to meet the increased demand of health care profession. The GNM course is a three years full time programme with an admitted strength of 60 students, and the ANM course is a two years full time programme which has an admitted strength of 30 students. These programmes provide theoretical knowledge along with simulations and preparing students for the profession in the healthcare area.

    In this regard, Mata Shanti Devi Institute of Nursing keeps its admission process as simple and open as possible for any nursing student. The institute takes into account accomplishments in certain classes and may hold entrance exams or an interview.
