Matushri Virbaima Mahila Science and Home Science College, Rajkot, was established in 1989, which is one of the premier women's educational institutions located in Gujarat, India. Situated on a sprawling campus with 6.68 acres, it is an affiliated college that is essentially carving out time for learning since more than three decades. At present, the total number of students enroled is 705 and faculty strength is 18. 

The college boasts of rich facilities that are aimed to address both academic and personal development of its students. A well-stocked central library is at the heart of the institution, holding close to 5,000 books on a wide range of subjects from Chemistry and Microbiology to Family Resource Management and Extension Education. The students can have access to this library through the open doors by the office for serious academic research and study throughout 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. To address the budding scientists, well-equipped laboratories in chemistry, microbiology, physics, biology, and foods and nutrition are made available in order to give the student a feel of the subject, which is quite impossible without it in any scientific education. In addition, this institution believes in the need for physical education, too; therefore, excellent sports facilities, in addition to a basketball court, hockey ground, volleyball court, and an indoor sports room, are available to the students. Many students have represented the state in various sports and brought laurels to the college.

 Matushri Virbaima Mahila Science and Home Science College conducts a total of five full-time undergraduate courses for a period of three years in each course, and that concludes with a Bachelor of Science degree. All these programmes fall under the same Bachelor of Science degree, with different specialisations to accommodate varying interests among students and varied career prospects.
