72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program is eligible if he/she has: a Master's Degree in M.Ed. /M.A. (Education) from a University recognized by the UGC with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non–creamy layer) / Differently–abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time. A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55 to 50% or an equivalent grade, may be allowed for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991. A candidate who has passed M.Phil. (Education) through regular mode with admission through an entrance test with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale.
