Modern Education College, Shimla was set up in 2007, a private college affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University, which is set amidst the beautiful hills of Himachal. Established in 2007 in a compact 1 acre area in Halipad, Annadale, the institute provides focused education to its learners. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), for the B.Ed programme, for teacher education at the present. The over all student enrolment capacity at Modern Education College is two hundred and ninety two and the faculty strength of the college is sixteen students, this makes the student-teacher ratio very favorable to ensure that students are accorded adequate attention in their line of study.

The college has numerous amenities aimed at supplementing education and personality growth of the students. A school library comprising of more than 4500 text-books and reference books and national and international education journals and periodicals is available for reference by budding educators. The campus has four operation specialist laboratory such as Health/Physical Education Resource Center, Curriculum Lab, and Arts & Craft Center to enable the students to have hands on experience together with theory. In implementing technology integration an ICT Resource Centre that contains computers, printers and internet facilities is provided at the students’ disposal. Modern Education College currently offering only one course; The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This course provides a full-time, two-year programme that aims at offering qualified graduates a rich teaching profession. The B.Ed programme offered by the Modern Education College is permitted for the intake of 100 students and composes progressive learning on educational theory and practice. This is evident from the curriculum development and the more practical oriented affordable college producer of skilled educators.
